I am going to explain why Every Man Needs An Overcoat. In this post I will be showcasing outfits for Camel and Grey Overcoats. There can be no doubting the Overcoat has enjoyed a boost in popularity over the past few seasons. This is partly due to how versatile an Overcoat can be. Of course this is not immediately obvious when you see one on a hanger in your favourite store and may deter you from having such versatile and stylish piece in your wardrobe. We don’t want that!

CAMEL OVERCOAT

One of the most popular colours of Overcoat has been the Camel coloured version. The colour provides a contrast to most other colours instantly creating eye catching outfits. Perhaps more importantly a Camel coloured overcoat also works extremely well with lighter colours like blue and grey.

STREET STYLE OVERCOAT

Despite its formal appearance the Camel coloured overcoat looks great when dressed down as part of a street style look. When creating outfits like this one try to keep it as simple as possible. Remember the Overcoat is the focal point of the outfit so you don’t want to detract from it. A basic white t-shirt, ripped jeans and a pair of tan/camel Chelsea boots and a pair of wayfarers and you are good to go! This is an effortlessly cool look (it actually took a lot of effort!). This outfit is perfect for transitional seasons like Spring and Autumn even Summer in some regions.

LAYERING YOUR OVERCOAT

When the temperatures drop simply layer up. A Camel Overcoat is such a versatile piece when it comes to layering. I love fashion so I like putting together some daring outfits like;

CAMEL COAT AND A DENIM JACKET

Layering a Denim Jacket inside a Camel Overcoat. Remember to contrast your colours when going for this outfit. As we have seen from the previous Street Style inspired pictures blue and camel colours look great together. Adding a light wash Denim Jacket will give your outfit that punch of colour that makes it look so good! Keep the rest of the outfit simple then with black ripped jeans and a pair of Chelsea Boots or Adidas Superstars.

A WINTER OVERCOAT

I wore this outfit in Milan, Italy when I visited the fashion capital. (Read my Milan travel guide) For this outfit I kept it simple with a lighter upper half and darker lower half. Camel/tan and grey colours are part of the neutrals colour palette and complement each other. Keep this in mind when styling your coat with jumpers and as a general rule of thumb.

DAPPER OVERCOAT

A Camel coat will instantly transform your smart outfits like this one. Nights out in Corso Como in Milan are stylish affairs so you need a slick outfit. For added warmth and style I brought my Camel coat with me. It is such a versatile option to have in your wardrobe, I definitely recommend getting one.

GREY OVERCOAT

Overcoats do come in other colours too :-p so if the Camel coat isn’t your thing then I recommend going with a grey option. Grey is a colour which contrasts well with most other colours and suits a lot guys. The Grey Overcoat is just as versatile as is Camel Coloured brother.

SMART CASUAL GREY OVERCOAT

A Grey Overcoat is a great piece revitalise your smart casual wardrobe. This is almost a forgotten art of dressing! When dressing for dressing for a more smart casual appearance consider some simple tricks which will emphasise the look you are going for example tucking in your shirt, matching your accessories to the colour of your shoes. STREET STYLE GREY OVERCOAT

I love this Grey Chesterfield Coat because it is so versatile and looks just as good when worn as part of Smart Casual outfit or dressed down for a more funky Street Wear look! It has served me well since I bought it. Like with the Camel coat keeping the outfit simple is best. The Grey Overcoat is the statement you are making when wearing it Street Style and we don’t want to detract from it. A basic white t-shirt, ripped jeans and Grey Chelsea Boots with black gussets keep this look fresh!
