A SARTORIAL SUMMER
I love Summer Time, who doesn’t?! There are a few reasons why I love Summer. I’m usually jetting off to some exotic location, exploring a different culture and of course catching some much-needed rays. Another reason why I love Summer is the Style. I am an advocate of The “Fashion is what you buy, Style is what you do with it” mantra, particularly in Summer.
A SARTORIAL SUMMER
I associate Summer with dressing in stylish ensembles especially when I’m abroad as the hot weather is more reliable there. I have put together 3 Dapper Summer outfits for you to feast on so whether you are going out for a meal, attending a Summer Wedding or just taking the yacht out for the day you will be doing it in style!
THE WHITE SUIT
Nothing screams SUMMER more than The White Suit! White is an incredibly versatile colour which suits most guys and should be embraced more than just the bog standard white shirt. A certain amount of cajones is required to pull this outfit off but you will reap the style rewards should you try it! I have styled The White Suit as a wedding guest/groom look. Using accessories like my wonderful, knitted Wool & Water Knitted Bowtie and a pink Lapel Pin introduce some complementary colours to the outfit – this is important when using accessories. Introducing colour is always a good idea but make sure you have a plan or you’ll end up looking like Gelato! Tassel slip-on loafers, a tan belt and watch finish off this stylish ensemble! For a more casual look ditch the Bowtie and Lapel Pin. The White Suit looks great either way.

BLUE BLAZER AND WHITE TROUSERS
Another great Summer combination is Blue and White, they are almost as iconic as Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince! These are colours which complement each other really well especially if you don’t want to go down the pink route. This outfit is styled from the perspective of a wedding guest or attending ladies day at the races. Occasions like these require snazzy dressing and thinking outside the usual box of blue and greys. The accessories you choose will be noticed and will likely spark a conversation with like-minded individuals! I have employed “tonal layering” on the top half of the outfit. This is simply the same colour in a different shade, in this case, blue. Choosing a Bowtie again adds a funky element to the outfit. I love Lapel Pins and I always try to add them to my outfit and you should do so too – there is a reason there is a hole there! Adding the white trousers gives the outfit a fresh Summer feel as well. If you prefer a more casual look lose the Bowtie, Lapel Pin and Pocket Square, open the shirt to show off some man cleavage and party the night away in some exotic, sun-drenched location!

HOW TO DRESS DAPPER FOR SUMMER TIPS
When the temperatures rise the desire to cool down can take over resulting in some questionable outfits. Dressing in Dapper attire in Summer can be tricky sometimes, however, there are a few tricks you can use to help you stay cool while looking (hot…too much?) good. Go for breathable, lightweight fabrics like Linen Shirts and Blazers. Picking trousers or chinos will also help as jeans can cling to you resulting in even more sweat – not good! Shorts are the logical answer but might not be acceptable for example a Summer Wedding in Italy. Choosing colours that absorb the Sun’s heat also helps with the most obvious ones being white, pink and blue. Pastels are on trend so finding these colours shouldn’t be too difficult, Zara is my go-to store for these pieces.
BLUE SHIRT AND WHITE TROUSERS
Sometimes all you need is a classic shirt and trousers combo. Using a pair of white trousers instantly injects a freshness into your Summer outfits. A navy or blue shirt provides a nice contrast with the trousers while the tan accessories from the previous outfits complete the look. I have added a Bowtie to give it a quirky look however you can, of course, wear it open collar if you prefer.
