HOW TO WEAR…A PRINT SHIRT
WELCOME! Its hard to believe we are approaching September and Autumn/Winter. A trip to the shops may leave your fashion senses in disarray as you attempt to make sense of the new season trends. NEVER FEAR FASHIONABLE FRANK IS HERE to guide through Autumn and Winter.
THE PRINT SHIRT
Choose wisely and you will have a very versatile item of clothing. As we are coming into Autumn/Winter choosing print shirts with some black on them will help when creating outfits especially when it gets colder. Layering, as always is highly important for any fashion conscious man so think about your current stock of blazers, knitwear and outerwear and buy complimentary items. I shall demonstrate what I mean now;
THE FLOWER PRINT SHIRT
The Print Shirt has been around for years. However this year has seen the return of prints, in particular flower prints. Its Autumn. Clever fashion buyers!
The print shirts I have chosen are from River Island. They are flower prints with a lot of black on them. That is two trendy pieces hit already. The flower print is enjoying a resurgence in shirts and black is the colour every other colour wants to be! Wondering why? Find out why from this previous blog post.
WEAR WITH A BLAZER
A/W outfits are traditionally more smart. The blazer is the perfect way to transform your outfit from casual to smart. Especially since menswear at the moment is mostly casual….very casual. Teaming a print shirt with a blazer will instantly transform your outfit from good to great! Earthy tones are another big colour palette trend for A/W 16. I love contrasts in my outfits. I have chosen ripped skinny for a more funky look. Remember, fashion is fun. Enjoy it! The black skinny jeans really highlight the smarter top half. Also we can still bear our ankles for at least another month guys – no excuses!
FRANK’S FASHION TIP
Push up the sleeves on your blazer and bear your ankles for an effortlessly cool and laid back look.

THE PRINT SHIRT
I’m a footy fanatic. In fact I love most sports. This is a black flower print shirt. I could argue it is the “away” version of the previous flower print shirt. Yes I just said that and no I don’t regret it. Look at how good this shirt looks! I love it!
WEAR WITH A BOMBER
The Bomber Jacket. The definition of a trendy piece. A trip to most high street menswear stores will reveal the bomber jacket is in high demand. They are everywhere and are available in all sorts of textures, colours and even in print this season – saturation levels! You will be spoilt for choice in choosing your bomber for this season. My bomber jacket is from A/W 15. I picked it up on sale. You can bag a bargain too read my sale tips here.
FRANK’S FASHION TIP
The bomber is the focal point of my outfit here hence the contrast. I recommend buying a tan/natural coloured bomber as this will transition from casual to smart much easier than khaki/green. Again, pushing up the sleeves on the bomber creates a more casual look. Bear the ankles and wear some shades assuming we have the sun for it!

WEAR ON HOLIDAY
These shirts are not just Autumn/Winter stock. Take them on holiday next time you go abroad? I took mine to Sorrento in August. The Italians loved them! Colour flow is highly important as you will see with these outfits. My advice with print shirts is to not over complicate things.
