HOW TO WEAR A SUIT AND TRAINERS
As we hurtle towards Summer our fashion tastes change. Spring/Summer is a time when the use of suits tend to explode! Communions, Confirmations, Debs, College Balls, Weddings and of course the Races in particular Ladies Day! DAPPER TIME!
The art of Suit shopping is something that will be tackled in another post. For now, I want to concentrate on the Suit. The ultimate piece in any mans wardrobe! A wise piece of advice is this picture here!
However, the point of this post is not about suit shopping. Instead, as most of us already own suits I have decided to display the diversity of suits fashion and style. As we know suit shopping can be expensive business especially considering the likelihood of wearing it again……in most cases the suit goes back in the wardrobe not to be seen again until the formal engagement. This presents a number of problems especially if you don’t wear suits on a regular basis. As the sands of time pass by the suit style may go out of fashion, we may have bulked up or put on weight, ran a marathon and lost weight etc the suit may look completely different to what we remember wearing! It has happened to fashionable frank…….oh yes, even I’m not immune to it! The reason?! I suspect its because we are NOT wearing the suit as often. We become accustomed to the fit of our super skinny jeans or bootcut jeans, tight fit t-shirts or loose fit shirts etc and we are uncomfortable in them!
NO LONGER!
The next few photos will display outfits that are suit friendly! Outfits which are easily constructed but compliment the suit. These outfits are perfect for Spring/Summer styling! If your not brave enough to wear these outfit suggestions to your local bar or pub or in some cases nightclub then why not take the idea on a weekend break with your lady (lingerie in return……….your welcome!) or your guy!
These outfit suggestions are great for going on holidays. Going to Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Istanbul, Athens or even San Antonio in Ibiza, wherever, make sure you are winning in the style stakes!
FRANK’S FASHION TWIST
SUIT and a STRIPED T-SHIRT
So simple yet so stylish! This looks great. Roll the ankles of the trousers (the trend will end sometime so avoid buying cropped or shortening the trousers unless you absolutely love trend) for a Summer inspired style tip!

SUIT and a SHORT SLEEVE PRINT SHIRT
Again, almost effortless style here. White and Navy are simply dynamite together! Also don’t rule out burgundy or more Autumnal colours just yet. These look great when paired with strong opposing colours (burgundy and blue) Looks good worn as a full suit (a christening or wedding afters?) as well as just trousers and the shirt. Gotta add some shades!

SUIT and A PASTEL COLOUR SHIRT
Depending on how brave you are you can go for the coloured shirt. Usually Oxford style. Opt for Grandad collar (I love these) for a smarter look! Normal collar will do too of course. Keep the colours contrasting and you’ll be looking great!

SUIT and a FLORAL PRINT TEE
For a more unconventional yet uber stylish look go for the print tee! The floral print is still hanging around. Dig out yours from a couple of years ago and try it on with your suit. This one isn’t for everyone but is certainly worth considering I think, you might be pleasantly surprised! (I was :-p)

SUIT JACKET, SHIRT and CHINOS
For a more smart casual look you can use just the suit jacket and pair with a shirt and chinos. Using the suit jacket may reduce the need for buying a new blazer too if the funds are low! A pocket square gives the outfit a much more relaxed and stylish look!

As we have seen you can make the most of your suit! I recommend trying it. If your like me and you don’t wear suits often then its a great way to get continued use out of them while looking super stylish – ALWAYS important!
I’ve rolled the ankles on my suit trousers. This is easily done. I’ve rolled them 3 times. Get your suit pressed and dry cleaned before attempting the look to bring it back into shape. This isn’t overly expensive. My suit is a skinny fit so thats something to consider. The legs on these are quite narrow and therefore facilitates the tapered look with rolled up trousers!
